Statement and selected images from  the Human Souls series :

The mysterious realm of the  human soul is explored by my imagination as I ponder the "disposition" of souls.  Judgement, whether horrible damnation or glorious heaven, is suggested by the predicament envisioned in the artwork.  Many of the souls are portrayed as they just emerge upon the death of the physical body, where, for just a micro second of time, their future may seem unclear.  I enjoy rendering bad souls receiving their judgement.  Perhaps this is my own inner voice hoping that "good guys" win and "bad guys" lose.  This, of course, opens up a whole new point to discuss.

Statement and selected images from  the Tuscany series :
There are over 30 prints in this group of small etchings that were created after two visits to Italy in the mid nineties.  Most the the images are very loosely made, starting by using a litho crayon as a resist to give the works a strong atmospheric feel, with many plates being burnished and scraped.
